The Student Engagement Team (SET)  focuses on the social-emotional well-being of the ECCS students and their families with the goal of supporting their academic success here at ECCS.

The team consists of 4 roles: Social Workers, Caseworkers, School Climate Specialists, and Mental Health Specialists.

The team is vital in running our Student Assistance Program (SAP). This program is used to mobilize school resources to remove barriers to learning such as:

  • School Issues

Social Workers:

School Social Workers (SWs) are trained mental health professionals with a degree in social work who provide services related to a person’s social, emotional, and life adjustment to school and society. At ECCS, we strive to provide access to community resources while building strong positive relationships, resilience, and academic balance. We support students by providing a tool skill set to use during difficult times with the end goal of becoming strong community members.

Mental Health Specialist:

The School Mental Health Specialist (MHS) collaborates with parents/guardians, teachers, administrators, and the involved outside services. The MHS services identified students presenting severe behavioral difficulties and disturbances affecting the student’s daily functioning consecutively for two weeks or more such as self-harm, suicidal thoughts/ideations, grieving/bereavement, aggression, and impulsivity. The MHS will develop and implement a mental health plan and meet individually with students and staff. The MHS completes appropriate referrals to community psychological providers as needed.
